Pool & Spa FAQ

Everything Hattiesburg pool owners want to know — answered by the pros at Trueblue Pool Co.

General Service Questions
In Mississippi’s hot, humid climate we strongly recommend weekly cleaning. Warm temperatures accelerate algae growth and debris accumulates quickly, especially during spring and summer. Weekly service keeps your water chemistry balanced and your pool ready to swim at all times.
A full service visit from Trueblue includes surface skimming, wall and step brushing, pool floor vacuuming, pump and skimmer basket emptying, water chemistry testing and balancing, and a post-visit report detailing your water chemistry readings and anything we noticed.
No, you do not need to be home. As long as we have safe access to your pool area, we can complete the full service visit and leave a detailed report of everything done and your water chemistry readings.
A standard weekly maintenance visit typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on pool size and condition. First-time cleanings or algae treatments may take longer. We never rush a job — your pool gets the attention it needs every single visit.
Water Chemistry & Safety
Warning signs include cloudy or discolored water, eye or skin irritation after swimming, strong chlorine odor, slippery walls, or visible algae. Our technicians test and balance pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and stabilizer at every visit.
After a routine maintenance visit you can usually swim within 15 to 30 minutes. After a shock treatment we recommend waiting at least 8 hours or until chlorine levels return to the safe range of 1-3 ppm. We always advise you on wait times in our post-visit report.
A green pool is almost always caused by algae when chlorine levels drop. In Mississippi’s heat this can happen very quickly. Treatment requires shock, algaecide, intensive brushing, and filter cleaning. Trueblue can clear a green pool and prevent it from returning with regular service.
The three main types are cartridge, sand, and DE filters. Each requires a different cleaning method and schedule. Our technicians are trained on all three and will service yours correctly to maximize efficiency.

Yes. Trueblue services in-ground pools, above-ground pools, spas, and hot tubs. Pool and spa combo properties are serviced together on the same visit.
We handle pump and motor diagnostics, minor plumbing fixes, broken or missing drain covers, equipment inspections and tune-ups, and filter media replacement. If an issue requires a licensed contractor we will let you know and recommend next steps.
